Art Classes: Puppets

Mary Scott is an artist versed in all areas of the Arts; Illustration, drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic, watercolour and corporate logos. Educated at George Brown College several years ago, she has used her talents for professional and personal gain. The area of puppetry has always been of interest to Mary since like so many of us, she first saw Sesame Street and The Muppets.  

Puppetry is an old art form dating several years back and has fascinated artists for years. It is an art form that allows the creator free reign. Often the true personality of the puppet does not come through until every last piece is assembled, or the voice and mannerisms are added.

Allow your child or the child within yourself to create a personality from scratch. In this course you will cut the pattern, and assemble a Muppet style puppet, buy adding eyes hair and clothing. Then with your new found character you will write and develop a play. What could be more fun? Creating a full size puppet from scratch, giving it life and then using your performance talents to entertain others.

Come and join us for this 10 week program and leave with a custom made Muppet type puppet. Have fun and laugh either with you child or just a getaway for you.
